New Mexico Girls Soccer Playoffs Reach Semifinals

New Mexico’s Class 4A and 5A girls soccer quarterfinals took place on October 31, 2026, with semifinal matches scheduled for November 3, according to the New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA).

The NMAA published the 2026 state championship brackets on October 26, covering three girls’ classifications: A–3A, 4A and 5A. The NMAA published the tournament brackets, but the quarterfinal winners, final scores and confirmed semifinal pairings require separate results verification before publication.

The girls’ opening-round matches were held on October 29 at higher-seeded schools. The tournament follows a single-elimination format, with losing teams eliminated from championship contention.

Class 4A and 5A Playoff Format

Under the association’s tournament rules, the higher-seeded school retains home-field advantage through the semifinals. The NMAA’s official tournament documentation describes the hosting requirement as “At site of higher seed.”

The championship information confirms that these fixtures take place at host schools rather than a central venue. The format leaves each surviving school’s route to the championship dependent on one further knockout victory.

This arrangement makes seeding important beyond the opening round. Teams with higher positions in the bracket can benefit from playing their remaining qualifying fixtures on familiar grounds before the competition moves to Albuquerque.

State Championship Schedule and Venue

The girls’ state finals are scheduled for Friday, November 6, at the University of New Mexico Soccer Complex, bringing the surviving teams together for the championship matches.

The NMAA’s soccer schedule identifies the university complex as the designated finals venue. The championships will decide the state titles across all three girls’ classifications.

Spectators attending the finals must purchase admission through GoFan, with no cash sales available at the venue. According to the NMAA, adult tickets cost $12, while admission for students, seniors and military personnel costs $8, including transaction fees.

What Happens in the Semifinals

The November 3 semifinals will determine the finalists in each classification.

The NMAA says that brackets and results will be updated through its official tournament website. Match arrangements remain subject to change.
