The result extended the Lady Toppers’ six-match winning streak and secured their quarterfinal place.

Head coach Jessica Kubicek-Sutherland, assisted by Adam Drew and Jiri Kubicek, has guided a successful campaign that also delivered the District Championship.

Earlier in the season, Los Alamos ended a 12-year title drought at the Albuquerque Academy Tournament, defeating the hosts in a penalty-kick shootout. That achievement provided another significant milestone before the state playoffs.

Following that tournament victory, Kubicek-Sutherland said, “Our girls showed so much resilience and belief. It was an intense, physical championship game, and they stayed composed from the opening whistle through the final penalty.

I’m incredibly proud of how every player contributed to this win.”
