Avtron Plans 150 Ohio Jobs, 12 New Product Lines

CLEVELAND, Ohio, October 26, 2026. Avtron Power Solutions plans to add 150 jobs and 12 product lines as it expands manufacturing in Valley View and Seven Hills.

Ohio’s Tax Credit Authority approved assistance for the Legrand-owned power equipment manufacturer on Monday, according to JobsOhio.

The expansion will also retain 285 existing positions, according to JobsOhio’s October 26 announcement. Most of the additional jobs will be based in Valley View, while the company’s manufacturing operations will expand to serve a growing customer base.

Avtron produces load banks and power-testing equipment used to verify the reliability of backup generators. Its customers include data centres, industrial manufacturers, renewable energy businesses and other organisations that depend on uninterrupted electrical power.

Manufacturing Expansion Brings New Jobs To Cuyahoga County

The planned expansion will increase production capacity across Avtron’s Northeast Ohio operations. The addition of 12 product lines represents a broader manufacturing commitment beyond workforce growth, allowing the company to expand the range of equipment produced for customers.

Avtron vice-president and general manager Zac Bridgeman linked the investment to the company’s longstanding presence in the region.

“Since its founding in the 1950’s, Avtron has called Northeast Ohio home. Through hiring, expanding production footprint, and increased localized purchases, Avtron continues to invest in the region,” Bridgeman said in the announcement.

He added: “We’re thankful for the support which enables continued growth for Avtron”

The company has not specified a completion date for the manufacturing expansion in the announcement. Its employment figures remain planned additions rather than jobs already created.

The distinction matters for assessing the project’s local economic impact. The announcement identifies both new employment and retained positions, but does not provide a hiring timetable or detailed breakdown of the 12 product lines.

Legrand Acquisition Strengthens Avtron’s Data Centre Business

The expansion follows French electrical infrastructure group Legrand’s 2025 acquisition of Avtron, which brought the Ohio manufacturer into a wider portfolio of products serving data centres and other facilities requiring dependable power.

In its October 2, 2025 acquisition announcement, Legrand valued the transaction at $1.125 billion and described Avtron as a major supplier of power-testing equipment.

At the time, Legrand said Avtron employed approximately 600 people across five manufacturing sites in North America and Europe. Those company-wide figures are separate from the 285 positions identified for retention in the October 2026 Ohio expansion announcement.

Legrand also disclosed that data centres generated nearly half of Avtron’s revenue. The manufacturer had developed liquid-cooled load banks to meet the testing requirements of increasingly dense computing installations, including facilities supporting artificial intelligence.

This business exposure provides context for the Ohio investment. As data-centre operators increase computing capacity, the electrical systems supplying those facilities must be tested under demanding operating conditions.

Avtron’s equipment serves that requirement, connecting the manufacturing expansion to wider investment in digital infrastructure.

Ohio Approves Tax Assistance For Manufacturing Growth

The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved tax-credit assistance on October 26 during a meeting of the Ohio Department of Development.

The project was secured through cooperation involving Valley View, Seven Hills, Cuyahoga County, the state development department, JobsOhio and regional economic development organisation Team NEO.

The approved manufacturing assistance is distinct from Governor Mike DeWine’s May 2026 directive pausing consideration of new sales-tax exemption requests for data-centre operators. The manufacturing project and the data-centre exemption review concern different types of economic development assistance.

Valley View Mayor Matthew March welcomed Avtron’s decision to expand locally, while Team NEO chief executive Matt Dolan highlighted growing customer demand for reliable power equipment.

The participation of both communities reflects the project’s manufacturing footprint across Valley View and Seven Hills, although most new positions are planned for Valley View.

What The Expansion Means For Northeast Ohio

Avtron’s announcement connects a specific local employment commitment with a broader shift in demand for electrical equipment supporting data centres.

The 150 proposed jobs would add to the company’s existing regional workforce, while the additional product lines would extend its production capabilities. Legrand’s ownership also places the operation within an international business supplying power and digital infrastructure equipment.

For Northeast Ohio, the next measurable developments will be the recruitment of new employees, introduction of the planned product lines and expansion of manufacturing activity.

Those milestones will determine how the announced investment translates into additional production and employment across the two communities.
