Simplification Moves to Rockridge Stud for 2027
Grade 2 winner Simplification will stand at Rockridge Stud near Hudson, New York, for the 2027 breeding season, the farm announced on November 7. The 7-year-old stallion is moving from Florida after completing his first three breeding seasons at Pleasant Acres Stallions.
The move brings the Grade 1-placed son of Not This Time into New York’s breeding market with an advertised stud fee of $5,000, under live foal stands and nurses (LFSN) terms. The fee and relocation were confirmed in the farm’s Simplification earned $873,110 from 16 lifetime starts.
His victories included the Mucho Macho Man Stakes and the Grade 2 Fountain of Youth Stakes, which he won by 3Β½ lengths. He finished third in the Grade 1 Florida Derby and fourth in the 2022 Kentucky Derby.announcement(https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/295913/simplification-to-stand-at-rockridge-stud-in-2027).
Simplification covered 255 mares during his three seasons in Florida. His relocation is supported by owner Tami Bobo, who is transferring mares from her breeding operation to establish his next book in New York.
Owner Backs New York Relocation
Owner Tami Bobo is supporting Simplification’s fourth breeding season by relocating 50 mares to New York and purchasing six additional mares at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
That commitment provides a substantial initial breeding base as Simplification enters a different regional market. The investment is tied to New York’s incentive programs, which offer awards to qualifying owners, breeders and stallion interests.
Bobo said, “New Yorkβs program offers some of the most lucrative owner, breeder, and stallion awards in the country, and we want to take full advantage of those structures as his first crop hits the track.”
The New York State Thoroughbred Breeding and Development Fund administers the state’s thoroughbred breeding incentive framework. Stallion registration and physical residency requirements are relevant to eligibility, making Simplification’s location during the designated breeding year important to his connections.
Simplification’s Racing Career and Pedigree
Simplification earned $873,110 from 16 lifetime starts, establishing his racing credentials before entering stud. His early performances included a 16ΒΎ-length maiden special weight victory at Gulfstream Park.
His stakes record includes victories in the Mucho Macho Man Stakes and the Grade 2 Fountain of Youth Stakes, where he defeated his rivals by 3Β½ lengths.
He also finished third behind White Abarrio in the Grade 1 Florida Derby and fourth in the 2022 Kentucky Derby, placing him among the competitors in that season’s major three-year-old races.
Simplification is by Not This Time out of Simply Confection, a daughter of Candy Ride. His pedigree combines those sire lines, providing breeders with another mating option within the New York stallion market.
Early Offspring Draw Industry Assessments
Initial assessments of Simplification’s offspring have emphasized physical development and athletic ability.
Two-year-old conditioner and consignor Julie Davies has described his early yearlings favorably, highlighting their strength, athletic builds and trainable temperaments.
Industry professionals Susan Montanye and Tristan de Meric have also offered positive assessments of his early offspring, particularly their physical qualities and movement.
These evaluations provide early indications of how his progeny are developing, although their eventual racing performance remains to be established.
Rockridge Stud’s Existing Stallion Roster
At Rockridge Stud, Simplification joins a roster that includes Americanrevolution, Mind Control, Sandman, Slumber and War of Will.
The farm has indicated that Simplification will be available for inspection soon. His next breeding season will test how owner-backed mare support and New York’s regional incentive structure translate into demand for his services.
