Dream Finders closes $2.2 billion Beazer takeover, enters California
Key Takeaway: The all-cash deal, completed on Tuesday, creates the sixth-largest US homebuilder and takes Dream Finders into California, Nevada, Indiana and Delaware.
Dream Finders Homes has completed its acquisition of Beazer Homes USA in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $2.2 billion, the Jacksonville-based builder announced on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Beazer shareholders received $33.50 in cash for each share, and Beazer’s common stock ceased trading and was delisted from the New York Stock Exchange, according to Business Wire.
The completion was first reported by citybiz and closes out a pursuit that began with a rebuffed offer in February 2026, turned public in May, and ended with an agreed $33.50 per share deal in August.
The road to the deal
Dream Finders first approached Beazer in February 2026, but the Atlanta-based builder resisted for months, the Jacksonville Daily Record reported. When Dream Finders publicly revealed its pursuit in May, Beazer said the $33.50 price eventually agreed was 78.5% higher than its trading price at that point.
The agreed deal, announced on August 7, 2026 and covered at the time by Reuters, won Beazer stockholder approval earlier this month, clearing the way for Tuesday’s close. The $2.2 billion enterprise value comprises $915 million in cash paid for the Beazer shares plus the assumption of Beazer’s debt, per the Daily Record.
What it means
The combination makes Dream Finders the sixth-largest US homebuilder by calendar-year 2025 revenue, with a footprint spanning 26 of the top 50 metropolitan areas. It is Dream Finders’ ninth acquisition since its 2021 stock market listing, and by far its largest.
Crucially for the West Coast, the deal takes Dream Finders into California, Nevada, Indiana and Delaware, while broadening its presence around Washington, D.C., including Maryland, and adding scale in shared markets across Texas, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Arizona.
“Today, Beazer’s teams officially join ours, and the real work begins. We are closing this transaction in a challenging housing environment, and we are clear-eyed about that. But we believe this acquisition is transformative for Dream Finders.”
Patrick Zalupski, Founder, CEO and Co-Chairman of Dream Finders
Strategy: affordability and scale
On strategy, Zalupski said the priority is to move Beazer communities onto Dream Finders floor plans, a push aimed at matching what buyers can afford while cutting build costs through scale.
“Our priority now is to transition the homes we build in Beazer’s communities to Dream Finders’ floor plans that better match what today’s buyers can afford, while leveraging our increased scale to lower construction costs and shorten build times,”

Deal details
Dream Finders expects more than $100 million of annual run-rate cost synergies and double-digit percentage earnings accretion in the first year, and aims to improve its leverage metrics within 18 to 24 months.
“With the acquisition completed, the Board’s focus now turns to disciplined execution. This combination is built to perform throughout the housing market cycle. We continue to expect over $100 million of annual run-rate cost synergies and double-digit percentage EPS accretion in year one, while expanding our financial services platform and preserving the asset-light model that underpins our returns. We also remain committed to returning to and improving our current leverage metrics within 18 to 24 months, and the Board will work closely with management to ensure we deliver on that commitment.”
Rick Beckwitt, Co-Chairman of Dream Finders
