UP Mobile Manufacturing Surge Driven by PM Modi Vision Says CM Yogi
Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a premier global hub for electronics and mobile phone manufacturing, driven by strategic governance, massive infrastructure expansions, and extensive green energy initiatives. The state now commands a dominant position in national production while aggressively drawing multi-billion-dollar domestic and international industrial investments.
Key Highlights
- Uttar Pradesh secures over Rs 6,045 crore in electronics investments from Amber Group and South Korea’s Ascent-K Circuits.
- The state establishes a massive 75,000-acre land bank alongside a single-window clearance system across 36 sectors.
- Renewable energy targets are set to scale from 6,000 MW to 20,000 MW within the next three years.
- UP leads national ethanol production, accounting for 55% of the country’s total output.
Gautam Buddha Nagar, June 27 (IANS) β Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday credited the strategic vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for transforming the state into a dominant powerhouse for mobile phone and electronics manufacturing.
Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony for a major solar and electronics unit, Adityanath expressed gratitude to the Central government for its unwavering structural support. He highlighted that federal cooperation has been instrumental in accelerating industrial manufacturing across the region.
“I remember that for the development of a very large industrial city in Uttar Pradesh, we are developing a new industrial corridor of 56,000 acres between Kanpur and Jhansi,” Adityanath stated. He noted that Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav cleared the necessary environmental formalities within an expedited timeframe.
Global news coverage
The Chief Minister contrasted the state’s current stable investment climate with the historical security challenges faced before the current administration took office. He emphasized that rigorous administrative oversight has fundamentally altered the region’s economic potential.
“It is because of good law and order that Jewar has transformed from βJungle Rajβ to βMangal Rajβ today,” Adityanath remarked. The transformation has turned the region into a highly secure zone capable of hosting massive international infrastructure projects.
“With a robust law and order situation, separate sectoral policies for every sector, and a vast land bank of 75,000 acres, Uttar Pradesh is today inviting investors from across the country and the world,” he stated.
Adityanath emphasized that over the past nine years, Uttar Pradesh has aggressively scaled its sustainable energy footprint. The administration aims to expand renewable capacity to 20,000 MW over the next three years, up from the current 6,000 MW.
Beyond solar power, the state is pivoting toward generating CNG, ethanol, and compressed biogas from agricultural residue. This transition is specifically engineered to eliminate regional stubble burning and improve environmental metrics.

Highlighting the stateβs bio-fuel capabilities, Adityanath stated that targeted policy implementations have made Uttar Pradesh India’s leading ethanol producer. The state now commands 55% of total national ethanol production.
This dedicated ethanol framework has revitalized local agricultural economies. The policy has successfully brought cooperative sugar mills back from the brink of systemic insolvency and made them financially self-sustaining.
Adityanath concluded by noting that over the past nine years, the state government has transferred Rs 3.22 lakh crore directly into the bank accounts of sugarcane farmers, effectively clearing long-standing structural dues.
Meanwhile, the broader political landscape saw sharp developments. In New Delhi, BJP President Harsh Malhotra announced updated organizational leadership across 11 districts, allocating 33% representation to women office-bearers. Concurrently, senior BJP leaders Tarun Chugh, Rohan Gupta, and Rahul Sinha strongly defended remarks by Sharmistha Mukherjee regarding late President Pranab Mukherjee’s view of PM Modi as Indiaβs first genuinely directly elected leader, a claim that triggered sharp criticism from opposition Congress spokespersons.
Future Outlook
Uttar Pradesh is positioning itself to become Asia’s premier electronics ecosystem. The latest Rs 6,045 crore joint venture between Amber Group and South Koreaβs Ascent-K Circuits in Jewar is expected to anchor a secondary network of component suppliers. By integrating a single-window digital clearance framework with zero human intervention, the state projects an influx of high-tech manufacturing employment, aiming to transition completely into a trillion-dollar sub-national economy.
