Harris Electric Wins Big at Lloydminster Chamber 2026 Business Excellence Awards

The Lloydminster Chamber of Commerce officially revealed the winners of its 2026 Business Excellence Awards on Thursday, October 22, at the WLS LLP Stockade Convention Centre. The annual gala honoured local leaders across 13 distinct categories during Small Business Week.

Harris Electric Secures Top Corporate Honours

Local infrastructure specialist Harris Electric emerged as the primary double winner of the evening, taking home both the Business of the Year and Community Champion accolades. According to a report by Taylor Weaver for the Meridian Source, the awards serve to recognize the entrepreneurs, tradespeople, and professional services shaping the regional economy.

Individual excellence was also highlighted during the presentation, with Wendy Plandowski receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award for her long-standing service to the community. Other notable individual winners included Kim Capiral of Narra Studios, who took home the Entrepreneur of the Year award, and Donna Schellenberg of To The Core Pilates Studio, who was named Businesswoman of the Year.

Independent Adjudication Framework Determines Laureates

Organizers structured the governance of the awards to rely primarily on an anonymous judging panel to select the recipients. The framework contained only two exceptions: the Chamber board of directors directly chose the Non-Profit of the Year, while the public cast votes for the Customer Service Award until voting closed on October 20.

The specialised enterprise divisions recognized diverse local businesses, naming Acton’s Lower Shannon Farms as Small Business of the Year and Chopstix Pho & Grill as Startup Business of the Year. The final accolades included Red Bicycle Communications winning Downtown Business of the Year, Sabre Communications receiving the Integrity Award, and Glenn Stang being named the Think Lloyd First Ambassador.
